Look beyond the eyes of Jade

Where smiles die, and innocence fades

Where pain begins, a dark world starts

Shattering deep, her jaded heart

Her cries of help go left unheard

Far beyond her jaded world

For somewhere past those eyes

is Jade.

Hair of burnished gold and copper hue

Eyes of summer skies and coming night

The wind blows hard and shivering

Quietly the breath's soft rise and fall

Your touch against my skin

It warms and soothes my mind

Everything is clear if only for this moment

Your body against mine for more than heat

For something unexpressed but present

Like the coming of the promised rain

Which washes over us in the chill that's more than cold

The sun that's more than warm

A sense of rightness un-analyzed and comfortable

A glance which right now holds the world and slips away

Like your fleeting caress

Like silk against my skin

Soothing and bringing

A glimpse of things to come.
